What a great experience it was last weekend to join a band of other skilled craftsman in Bridgeport for one single cause... to build an access ramp for little Davina Martins. The pool of talent to show up for this event was truly impressive.

In order to provide our customers with the remodeling services that will best serve their short and long-term needs, we often refer to a simple checklist based on the routine activities of daily living.
Basic ADLs include eating, dressing, getting into or out of a bed or chair, taking a bath or shower, and using the toilet. Instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) are activities related to independent living and include preparing meals, managing money, shopping, doing housework, and using a telephone.
Important: Since we are not medical experts, we encourage all home evaluations to be performed by, or in collaboration with, an Occupational Therapist or other health care professional who is familiar with the specifics of a client’s current and projected conditions.

The concept of Universal Design aspires to broad-spectrum solutions that can benefit everyone, not just people with disabilities. Moreover, it recognizes the importance of how things look. From this perspective, our designers look for opportunities to accommodate various needs that will blend imperceptibly with your overall design and provide all family members and visitors the convenience of a well-designed kitchen.

Pre-modeling is a term we use to describe the many things a person can do to prepare their home for possible future adaptable uses. None of us can predict the future, but we can all prepare for it. We’ll show you some secrets to making sure your next remodel does not turn into an expensive and unnecessary re-remodel.
Safe passage from room to room is just as important as properly outfitting the rooms themselves. Hallways and doors may need to be widened, direction of door swings may need to be changed, and even door hardware can sometimes present barriers to simple navigation throughout a home.
The sprawling single-story ranch is a rare find in Fairfield County these days. Therefore, multi-level living is a familiar challenge for people in this area. Two commonly welcomed solutions to this are stair lifts and home elevators. We can help educate you on the benefits of either solution, and which might be most suitable for your home.
Unlike your typical Kitchen design centers, our designers come to you. This provides us a unique opportunity to consider surrounding rooms and outdoor areas that can dramatically influence a design. Working from a laptop right there within your home, using the latest state-of-the-art design software, they will provide a near-realistic representation of your future kitchen or bath. And to make sure that you are getting exactly the cabinets you have envisioned, they will pre-order door samples representing the exact door style, species and color(s) that you have chosen. Then, while your cabinetry is being built, this door sample may be used as reference for choosing other materials such as wall paint, countertops, hardware, appliances, and fixtures.
Making your bathroom more accessible does not necessarily require a full conversion to wheelchair access. As part of your next bathroom remodel, we’ll show you some simple things we can do that will help make your bathroom easier to adapt to your changing needs in the future. With very little foresight now, you can save thousands in unnecessary major remodeling in the future.
The ability to safely enter and exit our homes is the very first matter to address. We offer a modular ramp system that is designed to serve as a temporary or permanent solution. If there are site limitations that will prevent the ADA-specified rise/run requirements (12" of horizontal run for every 1" of vertical rise) for a ramp system, a wheelchair lift may be more suitable.

Just as despair can come to one only from other human beings, hope, too, can be given to one only by other human beings. - Elie Weisel
